Fisher PHDS200 Studio Standard Portable Stereo CD System Boombox 90’s Era. Very nice Fisher Studio Standard PHDS-200 portable stereo / CD player / tape deck. Clean, shows only moderate wear from 30 years of existence, just a few minor scuffs on the surface, and if you look closely the right side speaker cover is slightly pushed in at the corner. Works great and sounds great, takes me right back to the 90’s. Good sound quality, makes a little static when you adjust the volume and tone sliders, but it clears up when your position is selected. While adjusting the radio frequency it sounds like the right speaker temporarily cuts out a bit, but again it clears up when your position is set. The antenna deploys and extends smoothly to it’s full length; the pivot at the bottom is a little loose though, so I would lean it against an adjacent surface when the antenna is fully extended. CD player sounds great and functions properly; I noticed that you sometimes have to manipulate the CD tray lid a bit to get it to latch properly - this is just how it functions, I don’t think that this is a result of wear or damage. I played a cassette and it sounded great; all stop, fast forward, reverse, and pause worked properly. I was not able to test the dubbing function. I made all tests with a AC power cord, which is not included. Universal replacement cords can be purchased. I did not test with D-cell batteries, but the battery compartment is clean.
