LASONIC TRC-931 Vtg Boombox **PROJECT** iPod Video 30GB - Dock - 6.5"

Condition This is a project, not currently in working condition This custom Lasonic TRC-931 boombox project includes a built-in iPod dock  AND an iPod Video 30GB , built-in 6.5" LCD display screen, upgraded poly cone woofers, upgraded Pioneer tweeters, and secondary amplifier.  Video output from the iPod (or external source) to the LCD screen (once re-worked).  As far as I remember, all of the original basic functions of the boombox will still work, with the exception of the tape decks of course.   Additional power switches and inputs (audio/video) added.  Additional 12V input and output added.  Additional 5V USB output added.  3-prong upgraded power cord added.  Bars to protect the screen added.   Originally had a built in battery charger and battery (battery dead, but still installed - no charger).  Originally used a Griffin Journi main board for iPod integration, but the board died and is not included (though remote control receiver is still wired to just behind a tweeter grill).  The Griffin Journi can still be found, even here on Pricetronic if you choose to go the easy route to get it up and running again.  If not, lots of rewiring for the iPod will be involved.  Otherwise, the rewiring needed is pretty basic - needs new battery & charger - a better compact secondary amp could be had for very reasonable prices nowadays.   Video demonstration link (when it was fully functional):   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpF6rSJGnaI Sorry for the very poor quality video and audio.  It was 12 years ago, and the volume was very low with the bass basically off.
